Furniture doesn't have to just sit in a room. It can say something.

I've always looked at ordinary objects and thought about what else they could become. Furniture gives me another surface to create on.

I work with existing and found pieces, transforming them through paint, textiles, cowrie shells, pattern, detailing and upholstery. Sometimes I start with a clear idea. Other times the piece itself tells me where to go.

A simple wooden chair can become something completely different once you stop looking at it as just a chair.

ALTAR + SACRED SPACE FURNITURE

The chairs pictured here were created specifically as altar chairs, designed with the intention of becoming part of a sacred space.

I create altar chairs, stools and other small furniture pieces for personal altars, spiritual spaces and ceremonial settings. Each piece is approached according to its purpose and may incorporate cowrie shells, textiles, hand-painted elements, color, pattern and other details.

For me, creating something for an altar is different from simply decorating a chair. The purpose of the piece matters.

My work isn't limited to sacred spaces. I also create and transform furniture for homes, creative spaces, businesses and anyone looking for something that doesn't look like everything else.

REIMAGINED FURNITURE + REUPHOLSTERY

Sometimes the bones are good. The furniture just needs another story.

I love taking furniture that already has a life and giving it another one. I'm interested in what's already there—the shape, wood, lines and even the imperfections—and what the piece could become.

I also reupholster select furniture, replacing tired or outdated fabric with bold textiles, color and pattern that can completely change the personality of a piece.

COMMISSIONED PIECES

I accept select furniture, altar furniture and reupholstery commissions.
